In English Askim Band, Salvation Army, in Askim, Norway, consists of more than 20 amateur musicians, whose mission is to play and communicate the Christian gospel through joyful and spiritual tones. The band plays a variety of different styles, mostly Salvation Army music, and functions as "the organ" at the services and different meetings.

Askim Band has its origins back to 1905. However, as from 1935 the brassband has existed continously. Bandmaster since 1995 is Eiliv Herikstad, internationally well-known as composer, arranger and instructor. Askim Band operates mostly regionally in the town Askim, Norway, 55 km south-east of Oslo, but partcipates also in SA national congresses. Furthermore, annual tours are part of its programme, both domestically and internationally through the Salvation Army network. The band has been travelling to England (1993 and 2002), Spain (1995), and Newfoundland, Canada (2007).
